Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh

Sri Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy started his political career by campaigning for the Indian National Congress in the 2004 Andhra Pradesh state elections in Kadapa district. He was elected as Member of Parliament from Kadapa constituency as a member of the Indian National Congress in the 2009 Indian general election. After his father Rajasekhar Reddy’s sudden death, Six months after his father’s death, he began an “Odarpu yatra (condolence tour)”, as promised earlier, to go and meet the families of those alleged to have either committed suicide or suffered ill health on the news of his father’s death. The Congress party’s central leadership directed him to call off his Odarpu yatra, an order which he defied leading to a fallout between the high command and himself. He went ahead with the yatra, stating that it was a personal matter, led him to form YSR Congress Party in 2011. He led the party to several victories at both the state and national levels. His party won in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election with 151 seats of the total 175 seats, one of the landslide victories in the history of Andhra Pradesh. He took oath as the Chief Minister on 30 May 2019.

Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh

Early Life and Education:
Shri Justice S. Abdul Nazeer was born on 5th January, 1958 in Beluvai, Karnataka. He studied law at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College, Mangalore.
Career as a Lawyer:
Shri Justice Nazeer enrolled as an advocate on 18th February, 1983. He practiced for 20 years at the Karnataka High Court and other courts in Karnataka.
Career as a Judge:
In 2003, he was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court and next year he became a Permanent Judge. On 17th February, 2017 Shri Justice Nazeer was elevated to the Supreme Court.
Appointment as Governor:
After his retirement, Shri Justice Nazeer was appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 12th February, 2023. He assumed charge as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 24th February, 2023.
Tenure as Supreme Court Judge:
Shri Justice Nazeer retired on 4th January, 2023 after serving almost 6-year term at the Supreme Court (2017-2023). During his tenure, Shri Justice Nazeer authored a large number of judgments.
